Software iSCSI datastores are not visible after a host reboot when using LACP for VMware ESXi 5.1
Symptom:
- Software
iSCSI datastores are missing after the host reboots.
- VMkernel
port group for iSCSI is configured in VMware vSphere Distributed Switch
(VDS).
- Link
aggregation is configured for the uplink ports used in the VMkernel port
group.
This issue occurs because the LACP services on the host start after the
software iSCSI initiator services have started and after the ISCSI discovery
has failed.
Resolution:
This is a known issue affecting VMware ESXi 5.1. Currently,
there is no resolution.
To work around this issue, perform a
manual rescan after the host reboots.
Alternatively, you can avoid using LACP for uplink ports that are also used by the Software iSCSI initiator.
